Announcing the Coastline Bank Community Foundation School Environmental Grant Project!


Calling all primary and high schools in the Hastings, Macleay, and Manning Valley! We're launching an exciting competition that combines creativity, education and commitment to the environment - and we want YOU to be a part of it!

Here's your chance to win one of nine $2,000 grants just by showcasing your school's environmental project. It can be an existing endeavour, or a new one you're planning.

Terms & Conditions for Coastline Bank Community Foundation's School Environmental Grant Project

1. Overview:

The Coastline Bank Community Foundation's School Environmental Grant Project (the "Grant") offers schools in the Macleay, Hastings, and Manning Valleys the opportunity to win one of nine (9) $2,000 grants to support an environmental project within the school. The project must align with Earth Day 2025's theme, "Our Power, Our Planet." By entering, schools agree to comply with the following Terms and Conditions.

2. Eligibility:

  • The Grant is open to schools located in the Macleay, Hastings, and Manning Valleys, including:
  • Small primary schools with no more than 230 enrolled students.
  • Primary schools with more than 230 enrolled students.
  • High schools.
  • Schools must be registered and operational in the Macleay, Hastings and Manning Valleys of NSW to qualify.

3. Application Process:

  • Applications must be submitted via the Coastline Bank website: https://www.coastline.com.au/community/environmental-school-project-grant.
  • The application must include:
  • A video (maximum 2 minutes) showcasing the environmental project the school is planning or currently working on, that aligns with Earth Day 2025’s theme, "Our Power, Our Planet."
  • A completed entry form with all required details.
  • Applications open at 9:00 AM on 30th April 2025 and close at 5:00 PM on 21st May 2025.

4. Voting:

  • After the application period closes, the videos of all eligible schools will be published on Coastline Bank's Facebook page.
  • Voting will be open to the public from 9:00 AM on 23rd May 2025 to 4:00 PM on 30th May 2025. The public can vote for their preferred school video.
  • Voting will take place exclusively on the Coastline Bank Facebook page. Any voting outside of this platform will not be considered.
  • Voting is calculated on the number of post likes and shares.

5. Selection and Awarding of Grants:

  • The nine (9) $2,000 grants will be awarded to the top schools based on the number of votes received on their project video.
  • One (1) grant will be awarded to the winner in each category in each valley:
  • Small primary schools (no more than 230 students)
  • Primary schools
  • High schools
  • In the event of a tie, Coastline Bank reserves the right to select additional winners or adjust voting parameters at its discretion.
  • If there are insufficient applications within the nominated categories, Coastline Bank reserves the right to issue grant funding outside of the voting parameters.

6. Grant Funds Use:

  • The $2,000 grant must be used towards an environmental project that the winning school is planning or already working on.
  • Funds may be used for purchasing materials, resources, or equipment necessary for the completion of the environmental project.
  • The grant cannot be used for general operating costs or non-environmental purposes.

7. Publicity:

  • By entering, participants grant Coastline Bank the right to use their school name, project video, and other related content for promotional purposes, including on social media platforms, websites, and other marketing materials.
  • Winners may be requested to participate in promotional activities, including but not limited to interviews, photographs, and media coverage.

8. Privacy:

  • Coastline Bank will collect personal information to administer the Grant. By entering, participants consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of their personal information in accordance with Coastline Bank’s Privacy Policy.

9. General Terms:

  • Coastline Bank reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with the terms and conditions or contains inappropriate content.
  • Entries that are incomplete, late, or submitted through other means than the designated website will not be considered.
  • The decision of Coastline Bank regarding the selection of winners is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Coastline Bank reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the Grant at any time without notice.

10. Liability:

  • Coastline Bank will not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury suffered by any entrant in connection with the Grant.
  • Entrants agree to indemnify Coastline Bank against any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from their participation in the Grant.

11. Governing Law:

  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from this Grant will be resolved in the courts of New South Wales.

How to Enter

1. Applications open 9am on the 30th April - Fill out the submission form before 5pm, 21st May 2025.

2. Create a video, maximum 2-mins (phone footage is fine!) about your school's environmental project.

3. Make sure your video highlights the project’s benefits to your school and the planet and is linked to this year's Earth Day theme - Our Power, Our Planet.


Judging Process

Our expert panel will select three finalists from each category. Those nine videos will then be posted on our Facebook page. The school video with the most likes and shares will win a $2,000 grant towards their environmental project.

We'll be publishing the videos following Earth Day on 23rd May, and encourage everyone in the school community to get involved in voting by liking and sharing the videos.


Winners will be announced on the 3rd June 2025.
