Cubs School Visit Program is back in action!

Coastline Cubs school visit program

We were thrilled to welcome homeschooled students from the Macleay Valley to the Coastline Cubs School Visit Program! This exciting initiative gives young learners a fun, hands-on introduction to the world of banking and finance, all while making financial literacy feel accessible and enjoyable.

The students had a blast participating in practical activities like exchanging coins for notes using a coin counting machine and spinning money through a note counter. One of the highlights was a guided tour of our bank, where they got to see the secure vault up close and learn about how a bank operates. It was a fantastic way to spark their curiosity about the world of finance.

Supported by the Coastline Community Foundation, the program aligns with NSW educational standards, ensuring that the students not only have fun but also walk away with valuable learning experiences.

To wrap up their visit, each student received a goodie bag and a certificate as a little keepsake from their adventure. It’s all part of our commitment to nurturing financial literacy from an early age and empowering the next generation to become smart savers and confident money managers.

Making finance fun for young minds

At Coastline, we believe that introducing young students to the world of finance can make a big difference in their future financial literacy. Through the Cubs School Visit Program, we aim to provide them with a hands-on, practical experience that’s both educational and fun.

The students enjoy activities like using a coin counting machine to exchange five $1 coins for a $5 note (which they get to keep!), followed by a guided tour of our bank. They get to see the vault, try out the note counter, and participate in other fun, money-based learning activities with the help of our friendly staff.

By the end of their visit, each student walks away with a goodie bag and a certificate, along with a greater understanding of how banking works and a boost in their confidence when it comes to managing money.

Aligned with education standards

The Cubs School Visit Program is designed to align with key outcomes in the NSW Education Standards Authority Mathematics syllabus and the Early Years Learning Framework, making it a valuable addition to students’ education.

Flexible and easy for schools to participate

We do our best to accommodate all class sizes, but because our branches stay fully operational during visits, we can host up to 18-20 students per session. We’re happy to discuss special arrangements depending on the size of the group and branch capacity.

If it’s not possible for your class to visit one of our branches, we can bring a modified version of the program to your school - making it easy for you and your students to get involved.

Each excursion lasts about 1 hour, and teachers or teacher helpers are asked to assist with facilitating the visit.

We’re so proud to offer this hands-on learning experience, and we can’t wait to welcome even more students to the Coastline Cubs School Visit Program in the future!
