Coastline Community Foundation supports Humanitarian Clowns project
We’re thrilled to announce that the Coastline Community Foundation is sponsoring $11,640 to Humanitarian Clowns in support of the Compassionate Clowns Seniors Project. This heartfelt initiative is all about bringing joy, laughter, and meaningful companionship to elderly residents in nursing homes across the Macleay Valley.
Tim Webster, the founder of Humanitarian Clowns, expressed his gratitude:
“Humanitarian Clowns are incredibly grateful to Coastline Community Foundation for their generous sponsorship of our Compassionate Clowns Seniors Project. Thanks to their support, we can continue to bring social visits, games, organised activities, and volunteer recruitment drives - creating joy, laughter, and smiles for nursing home residents across the Macleay Valley. Together, we’re spreading happiness one visit at a time!”
This project perfectly aligns with the Coastline Community Foundation’s mission to support community and cultural enrichment. By involving local volunteers, it strengthens community bonds and promotes empathy for elderly residents. Therapeutic clowning also enhances the local arts scene by using performing arts to uplift and entertain.
The Compassionate Clowns Seniors Project will engage specially trained volunteer clowns to connect with nursing home residents, particularly those living with dementia. Using storytelling, magic, music, and creative expression, these clowns will create positive environments that improve emotional well-being.
The funding provided by Coastline Community Foundation will support the project’s growth by enhancing its media presence to attract more volunteers and supporters. It will also enable the development of a thorough recruitment and onboarding process, ensuring a skilled and committed volunteer base. Additionally, the funds will be used to purchase specially designed props tailored to the needs of aged care and dementia patients, creating engaging experiences that are both meaningful and memorable. Organising social events for volunteers will foster a supportive community and strengthen relationships, encouraging long-term involvement and commitment.
We’re proud to support this wonderful initiative that spreads happiness, strengthens community connections, and makes a lasting impact - one smile at a time.
