Tracey Sales was born in Eastwood, Sydney, and grew up in Port Macquarie, surrounded by its beautiful natural landscape. This environment has always been, and continues to be, a significant influence on her work. With a deep love for nature and its Creator, she constantly finds inspiration in both.

Art has been a lifelong passion for Tracey. As a child, she could lose herself in creativity for hours - a love that has remained unchanged. No matter where life has taken her, she has always discovered inspiration that transforms into drawings or paintings.

Working with a variety of mediums, Tracey chooses whatever best captures her vision at the time. She paints in oils and acrylics and has a strong passion for mixed media. Her work often explores patterns, textures, and light, bringing depth and vibrancy to her creations.

Tracey studied Fashion and Textile Design in Sydney, where she learned to design prints for textiles, fashion illustration, life drawing, and theatre design. Each of these disciplines has influenced her artistic style in unique ways.

Her travels have also played a key role in shaping her artistic journey. She has found inspiration around the world, from painting the locals in Vietnam to capturing the energy of Flamenco dancers in Spain.

Family has been another strong influence in her artistic development. Her aunty, an exceptional portrait artist, sparked Tracy’s early fascination with drawing, while her father, an architect and painter, has also been a guiding inspiration. Recently, both father and daughter had their artwork displayed at the Hastings Valley Art Gallery - a truly special experience for them both.

Tracey feels blessed that many of her artworks have found homes across Australia and overseas. Creating art brings her immense joy, and she treasures the moments when her work resonates with someone, touches their heart, and brings them happiness. For her, that is what makes it all worthwhile.
