The security and privacy of your personal financial information is of the utmost importance. If for any reason you believe that the security of your account may have been compromised you should change your password or access code immediately and contact us for further advice. Any person accessing financial information or initiating financial transactions using electronic banking services needs to be aware and alert to the threat of fraud. You can help protect your accounts from exposure to fraudulent activities and reduce risk by following some simple precautions.
Access Codes - Internet and Phone BankingChange your password or access codes regularly (at least every 90 days) Choose passwords with a combination of upper, lowercase, alpha, numeric and other characters. Don't use passwords or access codes which would be easily guessed such as your name, date of birth, phone number or repeated numbers or sequences. eg 1111 Don't save or store your passwords or access codes on your pc. You should not divulge your password or access code to any person or allow any person to watch you enter or hear your password.

Phishing is a type scam where hackers ‘fish’ for your personal details by using hoax emails claiming to be from financial institutions.
A number of customers from Australian financial institutions have been targeted by phishing hoax emails which claim they have been charged a fee for a recent VISA transaction. The Email contains an attachment which supposedly contains information about the VISA transaction.
The body of the Email contains the following text or similar:

We notify you that your level of authorization has been altered during your last transaction of AUD 107.40 together with the service fee of AUD 24.00. The attachment of this Email is believed to contain a Keystroke capturing program which can collect personal details from your computer. It does not contain any valid transaction information.
If you receive an Email like this you should NEVER click on the link. You should NEVER open the attachment. You should NEVER reply to the Email. DELETE the Email as soon as you receive it.
